Bitter cold is predicted for Pine Ridge Reservation. Most homes are poorly insulated and many rely on wood stoves as their sole source of heat.
You may remember our story about "The Guardians."
There are now 15 of these young men who volunteer to serve and protect Pine Ridge residents, at their own expense.
In addition to helping stranded motorists, they chop, split and deliver wood to the elderly and disabled free of charge. We'd like to help them with their volunteer work.
How We Can Help
Most of these young warriors do not have the winter clothing needed to brave sub-zero temperatures. Most of them are working in subzero weather with only sneakers and hoodies. They need heavy coats, hats, gloves, socks, boots, coveralls and thermal underwear to protect them from the elements and some saws and axes for their work. Help us, help them provide for the Lakota people.
