The last two months have seen an enormous jump in the number of Lakota families in need of food. Every day we get calls from families and grandmothers who are completely out of food and trying to care for many children. Together last month, we provided food for 550 families representing more than 5000 people.

For this Thanksgiving month, we are buying 15 lb turkeys so that families will have enough food for their holiday meal. In addition we have added shelf stabilized milk, cereal, juice and as much fresh produce as possible.

Not only are we working with the Lakota to end hunger on the Reservation, but we want to do that with healthy foods that do not contribute to the rampant, diet-related diseases.

Please help so that Lakota families can enjoy Thanksgiving Day and nourish their children.
