Sponsors needed

Although we have lots of generous sponsors, there are still more than 70 families and elders who do not have sponsors but who desperately need food. Could you sponsor food for a family or make a monthly donation to help provide food to a family or elder?

Please contact Colleen Morrison to find out more or click here to make a regular donation to the food program.

Opening of the Safe House

We are proud to announce that the Safe House was officially opened on Saturday, March 24th, 2012 after traditional ceremonies for the blessing took place.

The 15-20 kids who consistently live with Donna and Billy Jumping Eagle now have a warm place to sleep, study, work, play games, and be immersed in a loving, drug and alcohol free, environment.  A big thanks goes out to all who helped to make this dream a reality.  It is the first of several projects ONE Spirit is supporting to help the Lakota provide a traditional life with traditional Lakota values for their children.

First comments after the opening of the Safe House:

"It is an awesome facility and I thought it was great. They had some tough times out there with kids so it is a blessing. It is really a cozy, comfortable looking place and the decoration showed the great pride they have in it. I know it means a lot... The design was perfect, also as a youth safe house should be. I would not have done it different.... I think your organization has been sent by Tunkasila,  Finally!   You guys are Great !

Last year, Dan Ross started walking from Rockford IL to the Pacific Ocean of Oregon in order to raise awareness about the Lakota youth of Pine Ridge reservation. Dan's goal was and still is to raise $50,000 for the construction of a youth center in Allen, SD.

This year, Dan continues his journey to Oregon by bike. He left on June 19th.
